The Next Door Villain podcast is accepting creative submissions for future episodes, and we want your help!
Each episode of The Next Door Villain Podcast focuses on a well-known fictional villain. Hosts Joe and Tiana attempt to understand and empathize with that character. The idea is, if we can learn to connect with characters that were literally designed to be hated, we might just have a chance to empathize with real life villains we encounter day to day.
At the end of each episode, we attempt to understand the villain from a new perspective using a variety of creative mediums. These have included poems, short stories, monologues, even an ad-lib once. This is where you come in: We are challenging you to create something that highlights the humanity within your favorite villain. We encourage you to think outside the box and create something fun. Need help flushing your idea? Just shoot us an email or fill out the form below. We’re happy to work with you to help bring your idea to fruition.
Use the form below to submit your idea, or the written text of your piece. If your piece is selected for the podcast, we will contact you to help record the audio. Please keep your pieces under 10 minutes in length (less than 1200 words approximately). We encourage you to write about any villain that inspires you, but if you're having trouble thinking of one, feel free to pick from the following list of some of our favorite villains:
